1. Roadkill: Another game on the road for Kentucky and another loss, this time at the hands of the SEC East leading Florida Gators. Once again, the Cats had their chance to win, but just couldn’t execute. Tuesday, it was a 35 footer for 3 that sunk the Big Blue, tonight it was 18 made Florida free throws to only 13 attempts for the Wildcats. Knight had an awesome game, scoring 24 on 7-14 from the field and 4-5 from 3-point range. His only 3-point miss was the one to win the game as time expired. Brandon tied Rex Chapman and Patrick Patterson for the most games with 20 or more points as a Freshman. Up next, a free Bruce Pearl and Tennessee, at Rupp.
2. Why?: Coach Calipari once said that he didn’t want to take timeouts with him to the locker room. In the Florida game, he did just that as he allowed the Cats to play out the final 12.9 seconds without using the teams final TO. Admittedly, Brandon Knight got a solid look, just missing, securing Florida’s seventh SEC victory and pulling them to within a half game of SEC leading Alabama, that’s right, Alabama. I’m not a Coach, never have been and never will be, but I believe in calling the TO and setting the play. Some allow the team to win the game, and with a more veteran team, I agree, but with this young group, I believe in attempting to set a play. Cal is the man and I trust him completely, I just had to ask Why?
3. Get Out Of Here: Wizards rookie guard John Wall was ejected from the game on Thursday night with 2:26 remaining. He had picked up his first technical earlier in the fourth quarter, and as he walked toward the locker room, he stripped off his jersey and tossed it into the crowd. Truthfully, I can’t imagine John Wall arguing with anyone, guess he was fed up with something…
4. My Cousin Vinny: It appears the family of Enes Kanter may not be done with their dealings with the NCAA. It was reported by Kanters lawyer, Timothy Epstein, that “We are currently exploring potential legal action against the NCAA due in part to this disparate treatment.” The treatment he is referring to is the handling of the Cam Newton and Terrelle Pryor incidents. Don’t expect this to change his position at Kentucky. Even if the Kanters won, I can’t imagine that UK would allow Kanter to play without some written agreements that his participation would in no way impact the games he plays within, either now or in the future.

5. 10+4+2+15: 2012 Kentucky recruit Shabazz Muhammad puts his Bishop-Gorman team on his back, scoring 31 points and defeating the previously undefeated and number 4 team in the country, Long Beach Poly (CA), 58-53. Muhammad is one of two, possibly three, shooting guards high on Coach Calipari’s list from the 2012 class. The other two, Archie Goodwin and potentially Ricardo Ledo. Muhammad is ranked number 3 overall and number 1 at his position by Rivals and would be a major sign for Coach Cal.
