Stacey Poole hasn’t made any real contributions to the Wildcats this year. He’s working to change that though. His team and his coach need him. John Calipari is forced into a 7 man rotation because of the lack of conditioning and current ability to contribute from the bench. Coach Cal is working to change that, too.

Here is one question from the Auburn post game press conference earlier this week with Coach Cal’s response:
Q. Cal, what about (Eloy) Vargasas far as what you’ve been working on with him in practice to getbetter?
COACH CALIPARI: It’s not working right now. But it’s early. It’s the same. Jon Hood and Stacey Poole, only had four workouts. One of them, I won’t tell you which one, after 15 minutes threw up. So that’s where they are right now. They’re far behind. So I’m going to keep spending time with them.

He said he’s putting in his own time in the gym as well in hopes of being ready when he’s called upon to make a major contribution.
That’s what a lot of fans thought Poole would bring to the team this year. A solid contribution from the bench. Although that hasn’t been the case so far, the year isn’t over yet. There are still plenty of games to be played and plenty of chances to show he’s capable of being that player.
Next chance: Saturday vs. LSU.
