South Carolina got its second National Championship in a row by defeating Florida 5-2 in game two of the 2011 College World Series last night. That makes three in a row for the SEC. Catcher Mike Zunino scored both of Florida’s runs, while South Carolina got runs from four different players including Jackie Bradley Jr., Peter Mooney (2), Robert Beary and Evan Marzilli.
South Carolina pitcher Michael Roth got the win with 77 strikes, 5 hits, 2 runs and 2 walks (1.06 ERA) in 7.2 innings. Matt Price got the save with 9 strikes, no hits, no runs and no walks in 1.1 innings.
