Kentucky punter Ryan Tydlacka has been named a candidate for the 2010 Ray Guy Award. The Ray Guy Award is given annually to the nation’s best punter. Tydlacka is currently ranked third in the Southeastern Conference and 16th in the nation, averaging 45.4 yards per punt. Under the “Seven Degrees to Football Royalty” heading, Shell is the great nephew of Hall of Famer Art Shell (an offensive tackle, and two-time former head coach of the Oakland Raiders). Hayes is a Cincinnati boy, and also under the “Seven Degrees to Football Royalty” heading, is the son of Cincinnati Bengals defensive line coach Jay Hayes. According to Scout, Hayes had a scholarship offer from UK. He was also considering Cincinnati, Indiana, Kansas, Minnesota, NC State, Tennessee, West Virginia and Wisconsin.
