Miles Simpson has switched positions from RB to Safety at the request of Joker Phillips, according to Larry Vaught.

Bigger back indeed, Simpson is 6′ 2 and 210 lbs. You may remember a similar to-do about Donald Russell, UK’s other “big back” who is not getting as much playing time as he would like. Russell’s mother (allegedly) stated in an online blog that she thought Joker was going with smaller backs this year, and her dismay that her son was recruited and then not used because of his size (as we reported [URL=”http://www.nationofblue.com/donald-russell-s-mother-questions-uk-coaching-staff-3410/”]here[/URL]).
I for one am glad to see Joker utilizing Simpson’s talent. Simpson seems to be okay with it, having played some defense in high school.
