The much troubled Royce White has finally decided on a school for next year: Iowa State. In an interview with GopherHole.com, he says that Kentucky was indeed recruiting him, and John Calipari had offered him a scholarship for next season. White said Kentucky wasn’t a good fit for him, and with Fred Hoiberg starting over at ISU, it was like they would be starting over together.
I for one am very glad White picked ISU. I just didn’t see the need for someone that has had as much trouble as he has in the last couple of years. Maybe White has learned his lesson, and has decided to straighten out his life. I am just glad we don’t have to worry about him blowing up while on our team.
Now the big question, especially with the rumors Dodson is not going to play next season, is what is Cal going to do for bench depth? There are not a whole lot of guys running around right now without a scholarship, especially the 5 star talent Cal wants. Should be interesting to see how the rotation goes next season with 8 scholarship players.
