Rivals.com has started a countdown of all 120 Division 1 college football teams. Today, numbers 65-61 were released with the ‘Cats coming in at number 63. Among the group came in-state rival Louisville at number 61.
While being a mid-pack team is not what everybody hopes for, losing key players on the offensive side of the ball and having a “pitiful” coverage team, according to Rivals.com Mike Hugeuenin.
But, for Kentucky, having one of the best linebackers in the nation in Danny Trevathan and the leader in the secondary back will certainly help the defense tremendously. Projected starting running back and all-purpose man Raymond Sanders will bring a lot of upside for the offense, along with the veteran offensive line.
The turning point in the season will be to capitalize on two straight home games against rival Louisville and SEC East foe Florida. Heading into Jokers second year on the job, the Wildcats’ need to make the most of the opportunity at hand and improve on a losing record from 2010.
