Rich Brooks Retires As Head Coach of Kentucky Football

Rich Brooks announced today that he is officially retiring as head coach of UK’s football program. Even with mixed emotions from fans, this was definitely a sad moment in Kentucky Football. In a decision that was not related to contracts or termoil, Brooks had come to feel peace about his decision to leave and today he made it official.

Here’s some highlights / quotes…

Brooks is disapointed he wasn’t able to complete everything he wanted to.

Talked about the need for a recruiting room and weight room. This is something the university recently decided against (and Brooks was not happy about).

How he want’s to be remembered – “Hopes the team/fans understand that they have a chance to come into Commonwealth Stadium and win football games vs. just coming to enjoy the tailgating.”

“I Hope everyone supports the new head coach with open arms“….I guess he’s talking about Joker? I still don’t agree with just appointing a coach without looking to see what’s out there. For my top five coaches we should go for..CLICK HERE

Where the program is at right now? We’re on the brink of being a top 20 team. We’re on the brink of being really good, but we’re also close to going the other way as well. That’s why he’s asking everyone to support this program”….or, how about hiring a coach to do that vs. blaming the fans if everything goes sour?

Brooks High Points (in his opinion) – LSU #1 win, First Georgia win, Miss St. after the LSU loss, Fans don’t want to hear it, but the Vanderbilt series. We now have the lead in that series.
