This past weekend was profitable for Joker Phillips and the 2013 class for Kentucky Football.
You already know they picked up kicker Austin MacGinnis, but they also picked up a commitment from Florida offensive guard Ramsey Meyers.
Meyers, a 6’3 290lb offensive lineman from Orange Park Florida, made himself the 6th verbal commit for the 2013 class.
Meyers sounds like he really wanted to play in the SEC.

“When Kentucky showed they wanted me, I did not want to wait and make them think I was just waiting for other SEC offers,” said Meyers. “I wanted to show that I really respected what they did for me. Coach Summers seems like a really good teacher and his players said he would get me where I want to be. What his players said about him impressed me. It was easy to tell the players liked him and really related well to him.”
Meyers said UK had been recruiting him since his sophomore year after viewing his film.
“They were the second school to offer me,” Meyers said.
He feels he can pass block well, but run blocking is his forte.
“I like to hit. My main goal is to get a pancake (block) every play. I’m always aggressive,” Meyers, who had received interest from Auburn and Florida, said. “I really like to run block and think that is what I do the best.”
