Bruce Pearl is a good coach. I don’t like Bruce Pearl at all. I will give him one thing though, he at least respects talent, even if they play for Kentucky.

Tennessee fans might think coach Bruce Pearl would be happy to see the brunt of Kentucky’s talented basketball team depart for the pros. But UT’s basketball coach sounds as though he will miss the competition.
“I’m a fan of (DeMarcus) Cousins, (Eric) Bledsoe and (John) Wall,” Pearl said. “I’m a big fan of those guys.”
Wall, a freshman point guard, is expected to be the first player taken in the NBA draft. Cousins, another freshman, should be a top-five pick.
Freshmen Bledsoe and Daniel Orton, as well as junior Patrick Patterson, also are expected to be drafted after leading Kentucky to a 33-5 record and the SEC championship in 2009-10.
“I like competing against them,” Pearl said. “Our players like competing against them.
“Our players had a good, healthy competition against Kentucky. We fought, and when the game was over, we shook hands.
“There were never any issues with those guys. I was impressed with them in victory and defeat.”

One thing I did notice after the Kentucky/UT matchups this year were the teams shaking hands after each game. There were alot of hugs along with the handshakes. It is always great to watch 2 great teams battle between the lines and then when it is over, show the mutual respect that these two teams showed. Remember this post, this is as close as I will get saying anything nice about Tennessee this side of Chris Lofton.
