With such little room to miss this upcoming recruiting class, the Kentucky Wildcats are being very particular on who verbally offer this spring. However, the search has led to a place of recent success in landing big time prospects. Grad High School in Atlanta, Georgia has been a home to current corner back Marcus Caffey, who was recruited as a running back out of Grady. With that said, UK is not shutting the door on that pipeline, this past week the Wildcats hit up the Peach State and decided to offer athlete Darren Dowdell. Dowedell, who has Kentucky number one in his top three, giving a lot of high remarks on the Wildcats.
“Kentucky is in my top three. I like Kentucky, Georgia, and Georgia Tech. I would also sat North Carolina State is up there too.”
While Kentucky is the only one of the three that has offered so far, don’t count out the instate schools yet in the early process. Nevertheless, Kentucky has done a great job solidifying their selves so far.
But what does a team like Kentucky have that is so much better than Georgia and Georgia Tech?
” I just like the whole athletic program. The football and the basektball team are real good, and I have got a former teammate of mine that is the starting corner back in Marcus Caffey.”
Having a relationship with a current player on the roster has to help the chances of Kentucky improve, a long with a lot of attention that Joker and company have been showing.
What’s next for Dowdell?
“I’m planning on visiting Kentucky, Georgia, South Alabama, North Carolina, Indiana, and a couple of local schools this summer.”
While Dowdell says it will be a little while before he makes a decison, Kentucky has put themselves in great position to land the Peach State versatile player.
