Jared Lorenzen and the Northern Kentucky River Monsters stay in first place by beating the Huntington Hammer 34-28.
Lorenzen was 15-29 for 183 yards and 3 touchdown passes as his team held off a late 4th quarter rush from the Hammer.
Ricardo Lenhart was Jared’s #1 target, catching all 3 touchdowns, and finishing with 8 catches for 127 yards.
The River Monsters finish up the next two weeks playing in state rival, the Eastern Kentucky Drillers.
The teams have split so far, both teams defending their home field. The last two games will have playoff implications and could set up a 1st round playoff matchup between the Drillers and River Monsters.
I spoke to Jared about the game and the upcoming games with the Drillers and specifically about comments from former Kentucky teammate Marcus McClinton.
