Nation of Blue – Two For Tuesday – The Present And Future Of Kentucky Basketball

John Calipari is yet to hang Banner Number 8, but I don’t expect that goal to take him too long with his ability to recruit.

Number 1 in 2009, 2010 and almost inevitably in 2011. It almost seems inevitable that he will accomplish his ultimate goal at Kentucky, winning an NCAA Championship.

With the Bledsoe situation behind us and the Hope of Kanter becoming eligible, the 2010-11 team is “A national championship contender (with Kanter). Without Kanter, a NCAA Tournament team. Good either way, but a major difference with Kanter”, according to Gregg Doyel of CBSSports.com.

For me, the 09-10, 10-11 and 11-12 seasons will be three of the most exciting since the 95-96, 96-97 and 97-98 seasons where the Cats won two national titles and made the final game three consecutive years. Recruiting then was as it is now, almost unfair…

With that in mind, it’s the perfect time to get a glimpse at two new videos. Our two featured Wildcats are Terrence Jones, from the present Cats, and Michael Gilchrist, from the future Cats.
