Kiel’s recruiting has picked up over the last week as he took a couple more unofficial visits to Alabama and Tennessee. Without further delay, here is his 5th entry into the Nation of Blue recruiting journal.

I had a great trip last week! Me and my family went down to Kentucky first to see the rest of my family on my mothers side. There wasn’t a lot of people there but i was still fun and worth going. I think the coolest thing was that the last time they saw me i was a lot shorter and didn’t know if i was going to be playing basketball the next year and now its just crazy just trying to figure out which school i want to play for after my sophomore year. But anyway, after we left the reunion my mother and I drove around Kentucky’s Campus and looked around for a bit. She showed me where her mother and herself stayed at and also showed me the basketball arena which i didn’t notice at first. It was definitely worth going down there.
After leaving Kentucky me and my mom drove a lil ways down to Tennessee. The drive down there was sooo crazy, I’ve lived in Illinois my whole life and its sooo flat and when we drove through the mountains i freaked out haha. I remember looking out my car window and just seeing a long drop off. My mom thought it was funny though. After we got to Tennessee we met up with the coaches and we walked around the campus. One of the coolest things though is that i met Wayne Chism and Pat Summit. I really didn’t expect to talk to them or even meet them but they were really cool and we talked a lot and told me what its like to be a VOL. After that we started walking again and we saw Payton Manning working out with the other QB. My mom wiped out her camera and started snapping every second that she could. The visit was really great!
After driving the 11 hours from Tennessee’s campus, we drove to Alabama’s campus. This school is so big I couldn’t believe how new it looked. They were telling me that they build a new building every 90 days, which i thought was crazy! I met the coaches and they were very cool. I felt really comfortable around them and just had a blast. They started showing me all the new plans for their facilities and they are going to look really great when they are finished. They showed me the weight room and just so happened the football team was working out. I got to talk to Mark Ingram, and he is waaaay bigger in person by the way. He’s just a beast haha. After that, I got to play with the team in a lil open gym type setting and did fairly well and held my own against their team. The visit all together was really great and I’m very glad i went.
So after visiting all the schools i STILL have no idea where I’m going to go, I have a lot to think about and hopefully by November I’ll have my answers.
-ENJOY THE PICS (sorry if there aren’t clear..they are from my phone, and its kinda old)
