NBA of the Day

Not a particularly good day for NBA Cats last night, but almost everyone played so let’s get started.

First, Rajon Rondo and the Celts faced off against DeMarcus Cousins and the Kings – the Celts winning 119-95. Rondo was actually the highest scoring Cat with 10 points on the night (5 of 11 shooting, 13 assists, 4 rebounds and a steal) – and a remarkable +15 over/under. DeMarcus Cousins fared somewhat worse, with 3 of 9 shooting and missing 2 of his 4 free throws for 8 points total. He tallied 6 rebounds, 1 assist, 1 steal and 1 block in 23:16 of play for a -14 over/under.

Keith Bogans’ Bulls lost 96-91 to Nazr Mohammed’s Bobcats, although Mohammed is still not playing due to knee issues. Bogans got only 15 minutes of play (not much for a starter), shooting only 1 of 2 with 2 rebounds and a block (2 points total). If you read the blog comments after the game, you will notice that the Chicago fan base is not enamored with Bogans of late.

Eric Bledsoe and the L.A. Clippers bested Miami 111-105, although Jamaal Magloire is still inactive on Miami’s roster. Bledsoe got 16 minutes off the bench and hit only 1 of 5 shooting (a 3-pointer) for 3 points on the night. He added 4 assists, 2 rebounds, 2 blocks and a steal for a +8 over/under. Let it be known that his steal and both of his blocks made the highlight reels, Bledsoe is an incredible athlete.

Houston (Chuck Hayes, Patrick Patterson) lost to Oklahoma City 118-112. Hayes was inactive, but Patterson logged 14:50 of playing time shooting 4 of 5 from the field for 8 points total. Patterson also got 2 assists, 2 blocks and a rebound for a -1 over/under.

Tayshaun Prince and the Pistons lost to Memphis last night 99-107. Prince made only 3 of 13 shooting (ouch) but got both of his free-throw attempts for 8 points on the night. He finished out his stat line with 5 assists, 2 rebounds and a steal.

Daniel Orton’s Orlando Magic lost to New Orleans 89-92, but Orton did not play.

Here is an unbelievable shot by Rajon in last night’s win over the Kings.
