NBA of the Day 04-14-2011

It was an “all-skate” last night, so let’s get right to it. Rajon Rondo’s Celtics beat New York 112-102, but they did it without their starters again as Doc Rivers continues to rest them – so Rondo did not play.

Nazr Mohammed and Oklahoma City lost to Milwaukee 110-106. Mohammed got a double-double though, scoring 12 points, 10 rebounds, 2 steals and a block. He shot 5 of 11 from the field and 2 of 4 from the line in his 31:50 of play.

Keith Bogans helped Chicago defeat New Jersey 97-92. Bogans shot 1 of 3 (all from beyond the arc) for 3 points total and added 3 assists in nearly 22 minutes. He finished with a -7 over/under, which is not good when your team wins overall.

Tayshaun Prince and the Pistons beat Jodie Meeks and the Sixers 104-100. Prince played for 22:40 and shot 6 of 9 (2 of 4 from downtown) for 14 points total. His only other stat was a rebound, but he finished with +11 over/under.

Jodie Meeks shot only 2 of 9 from the field (0 for 5 from long range) and 2 of 2 from the line for 6 points on the night. His 27:32 of play saw 5 rebounds, 2 steals and an assist.

Chuck Hayes and Patrick Patterson helped Houston defeat Minnesota 121-102. Hayes didn’t do much scoring (2 points on 1 of 4 shooting), but his defense made up for it. He got 9 rebounds, 6 assists, a steal and a block – finishing with +28 over/under. It is no secret that Houston is looking for a taller Center to replace the Chuck-Wagon in the starting lineup, so we’ll have to watch the off-season to see what happens.

Patrick Patterson started again in the win, playing over 31 minutes. He had 14 points on 7 of 13 shooting (0 for 2 from the line). Patterson followed up with 4 rebounds, 3 assists, a steal and a block – tallying a +24 over/under.

Eric Bledsoe and the Clippers beat Memphis 110-103. Bledsoe got 13 points in the win on 6 of 9 shooting (making his only free throw attempt). He dished out 6 assists, 4 rebounds, 3 steals and 2 blocks in 22 minutes of play.

Jamaal Magloire and the Heat spanked Toronto 97-79. Magloire shot 3 of 4 from the field and 2 of 4 from the line for 8 points total. He also pulled down 19 rebounds and 2 steals in 29 minutes of play.

Orlando put a hurtin’ on Indiana 92-74, but Daniel Orton did not play.

DeMarcus Cousins may have played his last game in Sacramento, as the Kings are considering moving to Anaheim in the off-season. Cousins had a quiet night as Sacramento lost by 8 to the Lakers (116-108). He played only 14:14 and tallied only 6 points (3 of 6 shooting), finishing with 6 rebounds, 2 assists and a block.

John Wall played his last game as a rookie, as the Wizards dropped one to Cleveland 100-93. Wall totaled 10 points on 4 of 6 shooting (made both of his free throw attempts). Filling out his stat line with 5 rebounds, 4 assists, 4 steals and a block, he achieved a +12 over/under (which is really good when your team loses by 7). For his rookie season, Wall averaged 16.2 points, 8.3 assists and 4.6 rebounds per game.
