Nazr Mohammed and Oklahoma City defeated Phoenix 116-98. Mohammed played for 16:17, totaling 4 points on 2 of 3 shooting. He also helped defensively with 3 rebounds and 2 blocked shots.
Keith Bogans and the Bulls handled Minnesota easily, beating the ‘Wolves 108-91. Bogans shot only 1 of 2 (it was a 3-pointer) for 3 points on the evening. His 18:11 of play also saw 4 rebounds, an assist and a steal.
Tayshaun Prince and the Pistons dropped one to Indiana 110-101. Prince got 14 points on 6 of 9 shooting (2 of 2 from the line). He finished with 2 rebounds, 2 assists, a steal and a block in 27:14 of play.
Chuck Hayes and Patrick Patterson couldn’t get it done against Jodie Meeks and the Sixers, as Houston lost 108-97. The “Chuck Wagon” tallied 8 points on 3 of 8 shooting (made both of his free throw attempts), and added 8 rebounds and 7 assists in nearly 40 minutes.
Patrick Patterson shot 3 of 6 from the field and 2 of 2 from the line for 8 points total. He finished with 5 rebounds and an assist in 21:21.
Jodie Meeks had 12 points in the win, shooting 5 of 9 from the field (2 of 4 from long range). He filled the stat sheet with 4 rebounds, 2 steals and an assist in 35 minutes.
Eric Bledsoe had an awful night, playing only 1 minute, 40 seconds in the 106-100 loss to Dallas. His only stat? One foul.
Orlando lost to Atlanta 85-82, but Daniel Orton did not play.
DeMarcus Cousins and the Kings lost by 14 to Denver (104-90). Cousins filled the stat sheet, but missed the double-double. He got 11 points (5 of 10 shooting + 1 free throw), 4 rebounds, 3 assists, 2 steals and 2 blocks.
The big news of the evening of course was John Wall getting ejected for fighting in the 123-107 loss to Miami. Wall was guarding Miami big man (and I mean BIG) Zydrunas Ilgauskas, when “Big Z” elbowed Wall in the face. Wall took it and kept guarding Ilgauskas close, when “Big Z” elbowed Wall in the face a second time. Wall then took a swing at the big man and the two had to be separated by fellow players and officials. As the players were being restrained, Miami reserve Juwan Howard shoved Wizard center JaVale McGee. In the end, Wall, Ilgauskas and Howard were all ejected and McGee was assessed a technical foul. Wall finished with only 2 points in the 15:12 he played. For the record, the Wizards were beating Miami when Wall was ejected.
My favorite quote: when Wizards coach Flip Saunders tried to settle his players who were getting pushed by Juwan Howard “had words” with Howard. The coach was asked what he said to Howard after the game and he responded: “We both just kind of asked where are we going to go out for dinner after the game.”
Jamaal Magloire played only 48 seconds in the win, hitting 1 of 2 free throws for 1 point.
