NBA of the Day 02-24-2011

Keith Bogans and the Bulls dropped one to Toronto, 118-113. Bogans tallied only 3 points on 1 of 2 shooting (it was a 3-pointer). His only other stat was a lone assist in 15:38 of play.

Tayshaun Prince had his second poor showing in as many days. In the process of his Pistons losing a heartbreaker to the Pacers 102-101, Prince played only 9:18, going 0 for 3 from the field and 0 for 2 from the line (that’s right, zero points). Remember in Tuesday’s game against Houston, Prince was 0 for 9 shooting, but made a free-throw to at least get on the board. Not sure what’s going on with Tayshaun right now, but it’s something to keep an eye on.

Chuck Hayes and Patrick Patterson helped lift Houston over the lowly Cavaliers, 124-119. Hayes had the better game, shooting 6 of 8 for 12 points on the evening. He achieved a double-double with 17 rebounds, 4 assists, a steal and a block for a +11 over/under in 33 minutes of play.

Patrick Patterson struggled in his 18:50 off the bench. He made only one shot attempt, but it did go in to get him on the board with 2 points. Patterson finished with 4 assists and 2 rebounds.

Eric Bledsoe started for the Clippers last night, but they lost 98-87 to New Orleans. Bledsoe played over 40 minutes and went 3 of 5 from the field, including one from long range for 7 points total. He filled out his stat line with 7 assists, a rebound and a steal.

Sacramento (DeMarcus Cousins) got a rare win over Orlando (Daniel Orton), 111-105. Cousins shot only 2 of 7, but made 5 of 6 free-throws for 9 points overall. He also snagged 7 rebounds, 4 assists, 2 steals and a block in 24:43 of play. Orton did not play for Orlando.

Jodie Meeks and the 76ers faced off against John Wall and the Wizards, with Philadelphia coming away with the win, 117-94. Meeks had 3 of 8 from the field (including 2 from beyond the arc) and 4 of 4 from the line for 12 points on the night.

John Wall earned Player of the Game accolades for his 21-point showing against the 76ers. In over 40 minutes of play, Wall achieved a double-double with 12 assists, 5 rebounds and 2 steals. He shot 8 of 19, and nailed 4 of 5 from the charity stripe.

New York (Kelenna Azubuike) defeated Milwaukee, 114-108, but Azubuike did not play.
