I have spoke to a source close to the team and got a little more background information on the Stacey Poole/Terrence Jones car wreck situation.
Terrence had worked out late at the Craft Center till about 11:15pm and he left and went to Forte Night Club to watch Wes Grams, the guys that he did “Teach Me About Kentucky” with and show them support. They arrived there about 11:45pm.
The show was running late and around 2am they found out that Wes Grams would not be performing anymore so they left.
They were on their way to the lodge and the wreck happened while driving back on Euclid.
Terrence left the scene 5 minutes after the wreck happened, and the police showed up 20 minutes after.
I was told that Terrence left the scene because he was shaken up and there were arguments breaking out around the scene and he didn’t want to be around it because of the possibility of an altercation. Basically Terrence left to stay out of further trouble and since he wasn’t driving he didn’t think he was required to stay and wait on the police.
The driver of the car that hit them was indeed driving under the influence, and the driver of Poole and Jones car, Larry Warren, was completely sober.
I think it was a bad idea to be out at 2am and even worse idea to leave the scene of an accident, but I can now see why Terrence felt like he should leave.
