Summer has begun and a lot of watch list and preseason previews are starting to come out. One of those, is the highly respected Rimington Award for the nation’s top center. Who makes the list? Matt Smith the senior center for the Wildcats has made a big enough impression to have his name on the list. Smith, who has been the starter for the Wildcats offensive line since his sophomore season, has been named to the SEC Academic Honor Roll for this past fall semester.
Smith will be heading into his senior season as the starter for the third consecutive year, and try to help anchor an offensive line that dealt with a lot of injury last season. The six-foot-four senior was part of the 2010 Wildcat team that was ranked in the top 25 in pass protection.
