Liggins Selected to Lefty Driesell Defensive All-America Team

The Lefty Driesell Defensive All-America team is named after former Maryland coach Lefty Driesell, who is the only person to ever win 100 games at four different Division I schools (Davidson, Maryland, James Madison and Georgia State). In 2007 Driesell was named to the second class of the National Collegiate Basketball Hall of Fame. The team is based on the top defensive players in Division I basketball.

There are no 1st, 2nd and 3rd teams; it’s just one team of 21 players out of whom the Defensive Player of the Year will be chosen April 1st in Houston. Liggins joins a who’s who of defensive players (complete list here). This is only the second year of the award, the inaugural winner (last year) was Jarvis Varnado of Mississippi State.
