There’s a lot going on this weekend and next week could be even more exciting. As you have certainly heard by now, there are three crucial events that could happen in the next 5 days which could set in motion some other great things for the Wildcats. In 5 simple words: Vargas, Jones, Payne, number one. “I love it when a plan comes together”[PRBREAK][/PRBREAK]
Eloy Vargas seems to be well on his way to becoming a member of the Big Blue Nation. The ex Florida, ex Miami-Dade player has seemingly done what was needed to meet eligibility requirements. Next comes the decision of Terrence Jones who has left a bitter taste in a lot of people’s mouths with his decision-withdraw-lack-of-decision. Jones has until the 19th to make his choice and as we all learned, that may be dependent on what happens with the vacant spot on the Wildcats coaching staff. That brings us to the third thing to watch for this week. Will Kenny Payne fill the void? It is highly believed to be the case and it seems that Payne and Jones might be a package deal.
If all of these decisions come into play in favor of the Wildcats, words 4 and 5 will validate and the Cats will undoubtedly have the number one class of 2010. All of this would definitely put Cal and the Cats in a great position to “finish what we started” and bring home banner number eight. Get plenty of rest this weekend fans, it could be a roll-coaster through midweek.
