In ESPN’s latest NBA Mock Draft, Chad Ford is showing some Kentucky love.
In his mock, he has Brandon Knight going third to Utah, Enes Kanter going fourth to Cleveland, and DeAndre Liggins joining the Los Angeles Lakers as pick no. 56.
Knight to Utah makes a lot of sense, as the Jazz recently shipped out Deron Williams, and Devin Harris may request a larger contract in the next few years.
The Cavaliers need a big man to join J.J. Hickson down low, and assuming Derrick Williams is drafted before the fourth pick, Kanter would be the unanimous selection for the Cavs’ front office. There have been pros and cons revolving around Kanter and while I typically do not like European players, I think Kanter will have a successful NBA career.
As for Liggins, if he does indeed get drafted by the Lakers, that just bolsters their defensive line. With Ron Artest and Liggins locking down the perimeter and Andrew Bynum down low, it will be tough to beat the Lakers next season.
Jorts is going as undrafted to this point…
