The Kentucky baseball team hopes the road stand that starts tonight in Paducah will take them all the way to Omaha, Nebraska The Bat Cats, ranked #2 in one poll and #4 in another, play Murray State tonight at 7 before traveling to Mississippi State for the last SEC series of the year.

Guy Ramsey at UK says that he believes the Cats have some control over their own destiny, but baseball is always filled with many chance events. Not to mention that the SEC tournament will feature many national powers, including defending national champion South Carolina. Still, if Kentucky’s pitching and offense remain as productive as they have been over the last five games, there’s no reason to believe that the Cats won’t receive a high seed in the tournament, which means more play at home, and, hopefully, a trip to Omaha.

Tonight’s game with Murray can be heard on the IMG/Big Blue Network.
