[B]BATON ROUGE, La. (AP)[/B] – [URL=”http://www.ukathletics.com/sports/w-baskbl/mtt/dunlap_victoria00.html”][COLOR=#0061aa]Victoria Dunlap[/COLOR][/URL] had 24 points and nine rebounds, leading Kentucky over 18th-ranked LSU 71-62 on Thursday night.
The victory ended the Wildcats’ 16-game losing streak against the Lady Tigers. Kentucky’s last victory against LSU came in the 1999 SEC tournament.
[PRBREAK][/PRBREAK]Trailing by three points with 8 minutes remaining, the Wildcats scored 11 consecutive points. [URL=”http://www.ukathletics.com/sports/w-baskbl/mtt/franklin_amani00.html”][COLOR=#0061aa]Amani Franklin’s[/COLOR][/URL] field goal started the run. Two free throws by [URL=”http://www.ukathletics.com/sports/w-baskbl/mtt/mathies_adia01.html”][COLOR=#0061aa]A’dia Mathies[/COLOR][/URL] gave Kentucky the lead at 58-57.
Dunlap followed with a field goal and two foul shots. Mathies knocked down a 3-pointer to give the Wildcats a 65-57 advantage with 4:15 to go.

Allison Hightower was the leading scorer for LSU (14-5, 3-4) with 23 points, but she missed 20 of her 30 field goal attempts.

Looks like Matthew Mitchell is doing a great job this year with the Lady Cats. I really like the mix of in-state talent that I have seen personally at the Girls State Tournament. A’dia Mathies is a studdette now and when she played in high school for Iroquois . Here is a list of players(besides Mathies) that are from Kentucky that give quality time to Coach Mitchell:
