Darius Miller started in place of Doron Lamb tonite, as UK played their first SEC road game against the Auburn Tigers.
Anthony Davis got things going with a steal and breakaway dunk. Terrence Jones looked to finally be over his concerns for his pinky, fighting for rebounds and being aggressive. He finished with the half with 6 points and 2 rebounds.
Things really seemed to be clicking early for the CATS for the first time in a while, Teague even hit a couple 3 pointers. Davis had 4 points, 2 rebounds, 1 block, 1 steal, 1 assist in the first four minutes, he finished the half with 6 points and added an assist.
Auburn won the rebounding battle early, 18-9. Kentucky cooled off quickly and Auburn took a lead with a little over 12 minutes to go in the first half. The teams went back and forth for the rest of the period. Auburn played tough man to man against the CATS, and was not afraid to take it to the hole on offense, scoring a large majority of their points in the paint and getting to the rim with ease. Robb Chub led the Tigers with 10 points.
Darius Miller ended the half on one of the nicest, deep, contested 3 pointers I have seen at the buzzer. He finished the half with 6 points and 3 boards.
Kentucky shot 40% from the field against Auburn’s 48%. Kentucky took a 1 point lead to the locker room, 29-28.
