F — Anthony Davis, Perspectives Charter (Chicago, Ill.) 6-10 Sr.
This do-it-all forward wasn’t on anybody’s All-American list as a junior. In fact, nobody had really heard of him on a national level until last spring. He completed his meteoric rise to the No. 1 spot in the ESPNU 100 as the nation’s top prospect with a 29-point, 11-rebound performance at the Jordan Brand Classic. He gets knocked on some honors teams because his team finished 6-18 against Class 3A competition, but Davis’ talent is just too much to ignore, as his 32 points, 22 rebounds and seven blocks per game attest.

F — Perry Ellis, Wichita Heights (Wichita, Kan.) 6-8 Jr.
After leading Heights to its third consecutive Class 6A state title, Ellis’ team will enter his senior season riding a 44-game winning streak. Last season, he shot over 72 percent from the field while averaging 22.6 points and 7.9 rebounds for a 25-0 team ranked No. 11 in the POWERADE FAB 50. Ellis has already been named Gatorade State Player of the Year three times and has won 72 of 75 career games. Last year’s ESPN RISE National Sophomore of the Year, he’s unofficially the runner-up to for class player of the year to Tony Parker of Miller Grove (Lithonia, Ga.).

F — Mike Gilchrist, St. Patrick (Elizabeth, N.J.) 6-8 Sr.
Gilchrist earned Gatorade State Player of the Year honors for the second time this season and is the third ESPN RISE Mr. Basketball USA pick form New Jersey, joining Bill Raftery (1959) and Dajuan Wagner (2001). In addition to averaging 19.4 points and 14.3 rebounds for the No. 3 ranked team in the POWERADE FAB 50, the intangibles Gilchrist brought to the game usually led to winning. He turned in an MVP performance at the McDonald’s All-American Game and followed that up with a 16-point performance at the Nike Hoop Summit. He also netted 12 points in the Jordan Brand Classic. Albeit in exhibitions, his team won all three of those games.

G — Trevor Lacey, Butler (Huntsville, Ala.) 6-3 Sr.
Arguably the nation’s top uncommitted senior, Lacey led Butler to a 32-2 record and Class 4A state title. The prolific scoring guard averaged 32.4 points, 8.3 rebounds and 2.7 assists as a senior and was a two-time Mr. Alabama winner. Colleges showing the most interest are Auburn, Connecticut, Kansas, Kentucky, and North Carolina State.

F — Shabazz Muhammad, Bishop Gorman (Las Vegas, Nev.) 6-6 Jr.
Despite his season ending with an upset loss, Muhammad’s production and skill set made him arguably the finest player in the West Region regardless of class. Muhammad averaged 25.1 points and 7.7 rebounds in leading Gorman to a 25-6 mark against strong competition. The Gaels were stunned in the state semifinals, however, with Muhammad nursing a bum ankle. He will lead one of the nation’s top teams next season and closed out his junior campaign with a 17-point performance at the All-American Championship in Houston, Texas. He’s the top-ranked non-center in the ESPNU Super 60.

G — Marquis Teague, Pike (Indianapolis, Ind.) 6-2 Sr.
The Kentucky recruit was Pike’s floor leader the last three years while earning all-state honors. He averaged 21.3 points, 4.7 assists and 4.9 rebounds while shooting 53 percent from the floor. Arguably the top point guard prospect in the senior class, Teague’s strength and ability to finish in the paint is what separated him from many of his contemporaries. His older brother, Jeff, plays for the Atlanta Hawks.

F — Kyle Wiltjer, Jesuit (Portland, Ore.) 6-9 Sr.
This 3-time all-state pick got his senior season off to a fine start with a 20-point MVP performance at the 2010 Boost Mobile Elite 24. One of the most versatile forwards in the country, Wiltjer demonstrated his complete game by winning the 3-point competition at the McDonald’s All-American festivities. He averaged 20.4 points, 8.3 rebounds and 2.4 assists for Jesuit, which won its third consecutive Class 6A state title and finished No. 22 in the POWERADE FAB 50. Wiltjer committed to Kentucky.
