Several University of Kentucky recruits and signees were have been named 2011 Gatorade Players of the Year in their respective states.
Kentucky signees Michael Gilchrist and Kyle Wiltjer earned the award in New Jersey and Oregon, respectively.
UK recruits Archies Goodwin, Andre Drummond, Perry Ellis and Shabazz Muhammad were also honored.
Elliott County’s Timmy Knipp, who will play college basketball at Eastern Kentucky University, won the award in Kentucky.
