Joker Phillips received his 9th commitment yesterday for the 2012 class from Central Hardin defensive end Pat Graffree.
I spoke to Pat this evening and he was very excited about the opportunity to play for the Wildcats.
“Coach Pardue and Coach Turner visited me earlier in the year and wanted me to come to camp,” Graffree said.
Turns out Pat performed well enough at the camp this past Sunday to gain an offer from Coach Phillips.
“Coach Phillips called me after looking at my transcripts and they offered me,” said Pat. “I had to say yes.”
Graffree is an Alabama native where he played at Decatur High School. He moved to Central Hardin after urging from his cousin, who played there and graduated in 1997.
“I liked it in Kentucky, so I decided to move up here and play and go to school,” said Pat.
When asked about the Kentucky fans, Graffree’s voice peaked with excitement.
“I know how crazy the fans are,” said the 6’4″ 277lb defensive lineman, “I usually play well in front of a lot of fans and I won’t let them down, and I know they won’t let me down.”
Pat was supposed to take in Louisville’s camp this weekend but since his commitment he has canceled his trip.
“I am committed to Kentucky and I know Coach Phillips is committed to me.”
