If you don’t know Brett Dawson of the Courier Journal hates Sandstorm then you don’t follow him on twitter. Everytime the song plays I believe he cringes. He wrote about Sandstorm today:

It’s called “Sandstorm,” a thumping dance song that blasts from the speakers during basketball games at South Carolina’s Colonial Life Arena, and it was the soundtrack to the Gamecocks’ upset of the University of Kentucky there last season. (You can find a sample of the song at the end of this story)
“They only play it when they’re up,” UK guard Jon Hood said Friday of the tune, which plays during timeouts. “They only play it when they’re coming back. If you stay away from ‘Sandstorm,’ you’re pretty much playing well.”
The Wildcats couldn’t avoid it last season, when the Gamecocks knocked them from the ranks of the unbeaten and out of the nation’s No. 1 spot. “Sandstorm” boomed through the public-address system while USC fans roared and rattled UK.

So if you hear this song playing throughout the game tonight, then the Cats are probably in trouble. Also pray for Brett Dawson having to listen to his “favorite” song and follow him on twitter @wildcats to see how many times he tweets it out.
