The Kentucky Wildcats overcame another sluggish start to overcome the South Carolina Gamecocks in Rupp Arena 79-64.
Terrence Jones and Marquis Teague was the storyline as they both played like they had something to prove and if they continue to play at the level they played at tonight this team could really get on a roll.
Terrence Jones led the Cats in scoring, netting 20 points on 8-9 shooting, only missing his last shot of the game.
Marquis Teague finished with a career high 17 points on a much improved 6-10 from the field and 4 assists to only 1 turnover. Teague looked like he did in the 2nd half in Indiana, driving to the basket and not settling for shots on the perimeter.
Anthony Davis, who only gets double-doubles, finished with 12 points, 10 rebounds, and 7 blocks. Not much else to say about Spiderman, as Calipari called him in the press conference, as he gives max effort every game and is no question the best defensive player in the country.
Darius Miller struggled and Cal harped on how inconsistent he is, being a superstar one night and doing what he did vs. USC. Miller was passing up shots and looked disinterested for most of the game, that is when he was in the game, finishing with only 4 points in 19 minutes.
Finishing up the scoring for Kentucky was Doron Lamb with 10, Kidd-Gilchrist with 9, Wiltjer with 5, and Eloy Vargas 2.
All in all it was another good win after a slow start, and the #cantcovercats head on the road to Auburn this Wednesday.
