Kentucky Football in 2010

The college football season is nearing and as such the expectations of the football season are on the rise. We are all anxious to see what Joker Phillips is going to accomplish with Operation Win. Two measures of this seasons success will be if Phillips can continue the three game win streak over Louisville and the four year Bowl Game streak. Joker might have other ways to measure his success.[PRBREAK][/PRBREAK]

When announced as the head coach earlier this year Phillips sounded confident and had a clear plan. “Moving forward, I’m making a call to service to all those involved in this program directly and indirectly,” Phillips said. “We will begin what I’m calling ‘Operation Win.’ This means continuing to strive for excellence in every possible area of Kentucky football. This is not about Joker Phillips. This is about ‘we.’ There are many parts to a successful program and my job is to evaluate how we can turn it up a notch.”

So far, Joker has done just that. He is working to turn things up a notch. Staff changes and the commitments on the recruiting trail are going to play an important role in his pursuit to strive for excellence. But none of that will mean much if Joker can’t deliver on his first major task as head coach, when his Wildcats face Louisville in the first game of the season on September 4th at 3:30pm.

Kentucky vs. Louisville
My prediction for this game is simple, UK leaves with a win. Although Joker is the new coach, he is not new to Kentucky. Both teams start off slow and there is no score in the 1st quarter. A field goal each sets the game at 3-3 at the half. Coming out in the second half, Kentucky hits a stride and scores two touchdowns to Louisville additional field goal and the 3rd ends at 17-6. In the 4th each team reaches the end zone and the final score is 24-13 and Kentucky extends the win streak over Louisville to 4 games.
