Kentucky Football Recruiting Top Prospects Locally

There seems to be a lot of disagreement regarding Joker Phillips’ success in recruiting, but he is going after the best in the area. Cincinnati.com just released their picks of the top 50 seniors in the state, and Kentucky is recruiting 6 of the top 7 (including offers to the top 4 – Adolphus Washington, Joe Bolden, Dwayne Stanford and Monty Madaris). Two of those have already committed to play in next year’s Under Armour Bowl game (Washington and Stanford).

Jody Demling also came out with a 2012 rankings list, his of course from the Kentucky players. I stopped counting how many of those UK had shown interest in, but they had offered the top six. (Zeke Pike, Patrick Towles, Joe Manley, Josh Harris, Anthony Wales and Mekale McKay). On a side note, kudos to Jody Demling, I didn’t know Towles was a grandson of former congressman Jim Bunning.

At this time, only two of these have committed to UK (Towles and Harris), but Kentucky is still in the running with most of them, including the final five of top-recruit Adolphus Washington. If Joker can land a couple more of these guys, Kentucky should have the talent to be a force in the top football conference in the nation.
