Kentucky Drops To 3-2, Ole Miss Wins

After a hot start to the season, Joker Phillips and the Kentucky Wildcats now have lost 2 straight and fall to 3-2 on the season. They started off quick today against the Ole Miss Rebels with a quick score up until the offense stalled and gave up 3 turnovers that led to scores. Despite being down by 22 points, the Wildcats kept fighting and pulled the game back to within a single score before giving up an onside kick and then a big run to prevent them from having a chance to get the ball back for a last ditch chance.[PRBREAK][/PRBREAK]

This was a game the Wildcats had to win to get to 8-4 on the season. Now it seems as if 7-5 will be the best we can do. I’d hate to be overly pessimistic but after seeing the loss to Florida and now Ole Miss, there would have to be a night and day turn around to get better than that by the end of the season.

Back to back losses to go 0-2 in SEC play.

The turnovers that led to scores.

Mike Hartline will take a tremendous amount of heat.

Joker Phillips and the staff still seem to have some room for improved play calling.
The upsides to today’s game:

The Wildcats will return home next weekend.

Special Teams had a pretty good game.

Randall Cobb continues his pursuit of the most versatile player in the country.

Despite being down big, the Wildcats did score 15 points near the end of the game.
The biggest question now is, can the Wildcats do anything against Auburn next weekend at Commonwealth? I think I know how the majority of fans will react to that question.
