The Kentucky Wildcats (one of the tallest teams in the country) defeated the Hartford Hawks (one of the shortest teams in the country) in their warm-up before the real game this weekend. John Wall led the way by setting a Kentucky school record for the number of assist in one game with 16. Breaking the previous record of 15 held by Travis Ford.
Before this game got too far along you could just ell that it was probably going to get ugly fast. You just know it’s going to be a good night when…”Boom Goes The Dynamite”, Ramon Harris hits an early three. I really think the cheerleaders may have played better defense.
When was the last time 24,000 + packed Rupp to watch Kentucky play a school the caliber of Hartford? And why would ESPN choose to pick it up?…Because this team is beyond special. They’re by far the most talented team in the NCAA and they continue to get better every day (that’s is scary good!).
The game quickly turned into an ally-oop fest with the shorter (I mean, much, much, much) shorter Hartford, could only watch the ball float over their heads, into the hands of a KY player who promplty completed the play with a dunk. This oppened up the door for Wall to set a new school record for assist in one game.
On the Dodson Vs. Liggins front– Liggins actually played one more minute than Dodson (19 vs. 18). In those 19 minutes, Liggins put in three points to Dodsons 19. Dodson went 6 for 10 from behind the three point line to complete his break out game of the season.
Now it’s time to look ahead! Up next …. Loserville!
