Kentucky Basketball, Cincinnati Reds, and Love

Love is such a crazy thing. It would be so much easier if it was like the love I have for Kentucky Basketball. You can never doubt it. It is always going to be there. Always. They might have down years, might even be trouble, but it will always be there.

Loving anything else, especially someone else, isn’t always so consistent. I hurt everytime Kentucky loses, but I don’t think it will be gone just because of one loss. I have recently run into a situation that is alot harder than wins and losses. I have found someone which I feel like I could live with forever. I know, I know; this probably isn’t the place for this. The bad thing is, I compare everything to sports. From Kentucky Basketball to Cincinnati Reds Baseball, I have always had a knack for comparing life moments to sports. I recently hit a grand slam with a very beautiful woman, but she now is giving mixed signals. In other words, she was showing fastball, and now has crossed me up with a curveball. I really like the fastball. It is simple. Throw it hard and blow it by them. Curveballs you have to set them up. You just can’t throw it every pitch, you have to work to get it pass a hitter. This is my current situation.

The other part of the situation is heart. My heart really hurt when Kentucky lost to West Virginia in March. That has become easy compared to now. Battling the entire game and knowing you are going to win and then the outcome doesn’t come out the way it should is hard. Winning the entire game just to lose it at the end isn’t easy.

The good thing there is always hope. I could make the miraculous comeback which everyone dreams of. Finding the right situation and having a little luck always gives a team a chance to comeback. Same with love. I guess I will just be patient, wait till the last 5 minutes(like a NBA game), and wait on the outcome. I know this sounds crazy, and almost jibberish from a guy who at the time is wearing his emotions on his sleeve. But hey, I talk to you guys all the time, so I figured you wouldn’t mind me venting a little in a sports related way. Love is like missing freethrows or walking the lead off hitter, you are playing with fire and making yourself vulnerable. Love can also be like a perfect game or a 10 game winning streak, it is great while it is happening, you just have to keep working hard to keep the streak going.

So I guess I will sit back, enjoy the game, and wait on the outcome. By the way, I am watching the Reds. The love situation is going to be a nail biter. I guess if it wasn’t, it wouldn’t be worth it.
