Josh Harrellson The Rebounder

Josh Harrellson has been an unexpected surprise this season for fans and for the Kentucky Wildcats. With 11 games behind him, the senior has become a rebounding force and leads the SEC is offensive rebounds with 40, averaging 3.6 per game. He’s second in overall rebounding only to teammate Terrence Jones, but not by much. Jones has 106 rebounds grabbing 9.6 per game while Harrellson has 103 averaging 9.4 per game.[PRBREAK][/PRBREAK]

Harrellson was expected to come off the bench this year behind freshman phenom Enes Kanter. We all know where that stands and since have seen Harrellson blossom into a prominent body for Coach Cal in the paint. Thus far, Josh is having his best season ever. And it’s being noticed.

Coach Cal has stated that people in the NBA are taking note of Josh. That’s something that no one would have expected before the beginning of this season. It probably wasn’t anything Josh had expected until after he sent a tweet criticizing John Calipari.

“I think the tweet was the dumbest, smartest thing I’ve ever done,” [URL=”http://www.secdigitalnetwork.com/SECNation/BlueRibbon/tabid/1502/Article/218231/one-on-one-josh-harrelson.aspx”]Harrellson said[/URL]. “I would have never worked as hard as I have. Coach Cal could have kicked me off the team. But he sees something in me that I never saw in myself. He stuck it out with me.

“Instead of coming to him man to man [after the Blue-White scrimmage], I just got mad. A lot of people [air their grievances] on Twitter. Twitter’s not the right way to do it. But for me, it was the best thing I ever did. It turned me into a new man.”

The new man is a rebounding machine and is an integral part of the Wildcats winning formula. Josh is having a career season, and it needs to continue for the Cats to have continued success.
