Josh Harrellson Has A Huge Game

I touched on the great play of DeAndre Liggins earlier. The other veteran that stepped up last night against Indiana was senior Josh Harrellson. I’ve been saying that Josh has to have career games for the Wildcats to be successful this year. Although he didn’t break any career high’s last night, I think it was the best game he has played as a Wildcat.[PRBREAK][/PRBREAK]

Harrellson played big. He finished the game with 14 points (1 shy of his career best) and 12 rebounds (2 shy of his career best). He also added 2 blocks and shot 4-4 from the charity stripe. In my opinion, that single game production counts as a career night. And when Josh has career nights, the Wildcats win.

Indiana wasn’t a cupcake opponent either. They have big players with big bodies that Josh had to compete against. Sure, offensively a few of his points came from great Brandon Knight assists, but Harrellson was aggressive going towards the basket instead of throwing the rock back out to the perimeter.

If he keeps stepping up, Kentucky keeps winning. If he keeps developing, he could be the player that makes a difference in February and March. We need Josh Harrellson to continue to play the best ball of his career.
