Kentucky Wildcats center Josh Harrellson gathered a career high 12 rebounds Friday night against the Portland Pilots. He showed signs of aggressive offensive play as well. There was one particular play where Josh got the ball deep in the paint and initially looked like he was going to pass it out. Instead, he turned towards the basket and scored 2 points. Actually, I think the ref’s should have called a foul too but that’s neither here nor there.

What is left to be determined is if Josh can become as assertive as he needs to be? 12 rebounds is a great night, don’t get me wrong. But against a team with top talent like Oklahoma, Washington or North Carolina, can Josh get it done? He’s going to need to for the Wildcats to win in Maui.
With many big games coming up, Josh Harrellson will need to play the best ball of his career. That means more rebounding, more defensive stops, more offense and more minutes. Josh will need to step up and be the senior center we need him to be in the over the next few weeks and maybe even for the entire season.
Josh will need many more career highs just like he did on Friday night. Do you think Josh can develop into the post player we need him to be soon enough to make a difference in the Wildcats season?
