John Calipari and His Scheduling Ideas

Do any of you have a spouse that always sits around and comes up with impossible ideas they want you to pull off and you know that you are going to have to try and at least attempt it or there will probably be a fight?

John Calipari loves to sit around and come up with scheduling ideas, and since the entire world recently freaked out when Indiana dropped off Kentucky’s schedule, he is trying to fix the situation with an outstanding idea that probably won’t work.

Cal spoke to Andy Katz of ESPN recently and he has writtern about the new scheduling project:

The latest scheduling gimmick John Calipari threw at me was to get what he perceived as the top Kentucky nonconference opponents — Indiana, North Carolina, Kansas and Louisville — to agree to a scheduling rotation in which each team would play two home and two road games against the group each season so that all four teams were on each team’s schedule. It sounds great, but it would be almost impossible to pull off with those other schools having other high-profile commitments with tournaments, neutral-site agreements and conference-mandated challenge games. UK is playing only Louisville on that list of teams next season.

My guess is with the recent blasting of the home schedule, Cal will do anything to beef it up to keep the season ticket holders happy.

I know when most spouses think you are at least trying to find a solution to a problem and you are showing effort while doing so, they leave you alone for a while to let you finish.

There is also a nice way that spouses can shift the blame for not getting it finished, and in this case, is there an easier target than 3 of your biggest rivals?
