Joe Manley (Class of 2012, Bowling Green HS, Ken.) truly has the body of a man, as he stands at 6’6″ 305 lbs.
Not only is Manley one of Kentucky’s biggest recruits, but he is also one of the biggest the country has to offer.
Thus, the junior is starting to get a lot of looks from an assortment of colleges, including Kentucky, Louisville, Auburn, Illinois, Notre Dame, Georgia, Alabama, and Wisconsin.
“Kentucky, Louisville, and Western (Kentucky) have offered me so far” Manley said. “I don’t have a list right now, but my top three teams would be Louisville, Kentucky, and Auburn in no specific order.”
He seems to really liked the ‘Cats, though.
“I’m pretty interested in Kentucky right now. I’ve got to know some of their coaches and players and I really like what they have to offer.
He also will be attending Kentucky’s Junior Day next weekend, along with some other schools.
“I went to Western Kentucky’s Junior Day last weekend and had a good time,” he complimented.
Manley is currently on a visit to Louisville for their Junior Day, where he attended the Cards’ basketball game against UConn Friday night.
However, he is very excited for his trip to Lexington.
“Kentucky is definitely showing interest in me and I really like that. I enjoy talking to the coaches and they keep me updated with what is going on.”
Manley also had something very positive for Kentucky coaches and fans:
“Between my top three teams right now (Louisville, Kentucky, and Auburn), Kentucky is recruiting me the hardest and showing the most interest.”
But what stood out the most about our conversation was his response to “why should a college want you?”
Almost immediately, Manley replied with, “I really don’t like to brag or anything about myself, but I think I have a nice work ethic and I can help defend the quarterback with my protection.”
His response to that question could (and should) go a long way for college coaches throughout the country.
Joe has a nice head on his shoulders, and whoever gets him will not only have a great physical man, but a man with a great attitude. You could call it a “Manley” attitude.
