Last night I shared a few messages with 2012 UK football recruit, Patrick Towles and asked him some questions about his recruitment and I just want to say that this is a very nice young man and I’m glad I had the opportunity to share a few messages with him.
As some of you know by now, Patrick was the MVP of the class 5A state championship game this past season where he scored 5 touchdowns for his Highlands Bluebirds as they won their 20th state championship.
Patrick is a 6’5 230lbs quarterback from Fort Thomas, KY and is a rising star according to Rivals.com. He has 3 scholarship offers right now from Louisville, Illinois, and Cincinnati.

Charlie: Patrick, tell me about your junior season and your incredible state championship performance.
[B]Patrick: Overall I think my junior season was a success. Winning the fourth state championship in a row was a cool experience. As far as the state game goes, I have to give it all to the guys up front. In film that week they (Christian County) looked suspect against the run. And when I run it, we get an extra blocker.[/B]
Charlie: Which past or present football player would you compare your game too?
[B]Patrick: Phillip Rivers, he’s just athletic enough and has a really strong arm.[/B]
Charlie: What has it been like having former Bluebird & UK Wildcat, Jared Lorenzon on the staff at Highlands?
[B]Patrick: It’s been great, having a guy that has run the system, and that knows the best way to run it has really helped out a lot.[/B]
Charlie: Which schools are showing the most interest in you right now?
[B]Patrick: Right now it is Cincinnati, Louisville, Illinois, Kentucky, Arkansas, and Notre Dame. I have offers from Cincinnati, Louisville and Illinois.[/B]
Charlie: What kind of relationship do you have with Joker Phillips or anyone else on the UK coaching staff?
[B]Patrick: The one coach that I have talked to is Coach Smith, and I really like what Coach Phillips is doing down there.[/B]

Again, Patrick seems like a really great young man and I’m glad I had the chance to ask him a few questions.
I plan on having an interview with his teammate, Austin Sheehan soon as well as he’s also been receiving interest from Kentucky.
