[*]Darius Miller, Perry Stevenson, DeAndre Liggins, Daniel Orton, and Ramon Harris combined for 41 total minutes played and finished with 2 pts, 1-5 shooting, 10 rebounds, 3 turnovers. Pretty dismal display from the bench.
[*]The 3pt shooting was horrid. 3-12 for the game for a crisp 25%.
[*]DeMarcus Cousins, in my opinion, is consistently the best player on the floor from game to game, even more than John Wall. When we needed a basket, we went to Cousins.
[*]Patrick Patterson has become a guy lost in the shuffle. A supposed All-American shoots 2-4 in a big SEC East road game. If someone doesn’t decide to talk Pat out of being a role player, then this won’t be the last slip up before the SEC Tournament.
[*]This was one night where I didn’t think we had enough basketballs for everyone. Bledsoe was throwing them up, and Dodson couldn’t keep it in his hands long enough. Also, the missed layup by Darnell defined the whole evening. Lack of focus and maybe a little too cocky.
[*]Kentucky, which someone said on the live blog, is the tallest team in the nation. I don’t know if we are or not, but we shouldn’t get out rebounded 44-40 vs. USC. We shouldn’t get outrebounded by anyone. Heart and hustle is rebounding. Wanting the ball more then the other team.

With all of this said, I think Coach Cal couldn’t have been happier about the outcome of this game. Now we are 19-1, not 11-9. Now the coaching staff has something they can teach the players, parts of the game that they need to work on. This will be a game, if we win the National Championship, we will look back on and say that was the defining moment in our season. We could also look back and think this was the game that turned it the other way. This is why they play the games.
