John Wall was the shizz as he led the Cats to a tough overtime victory over Mississippi State. Lets look at the boxscore:

[*]My player of the game is Patrick Patterson. He finished with 19 points, 10 rebounds, 3 blocks, and 1 steal. He hit the shot that put us into overtime and was the beat that pumped the heart all night for the Cats. If Patterson plays like this every night, we will be unstoppable.
[*]DeMarcus Cousins was an absolute beast as he had 19 points and 14 rebounds. As I said in the live blog, Cousins is the SEC Player of the Year. No question. He has so many big baskets that we couldn’t get by if it wasn’t for the Dancing Bear.
[*]John Wall took over this game and ran it like a point guard should. He hit big baskets and rebounded the ball very well. He also had a double double, making it 3 for the Cats, having 18 points, 10 rebounds, and 8 assists.
[*]We dominated the boards 48-27. Outstanding.
[*]Darius Miller finished with 9 points and 1 big block. I wonder why Cal decided to play Liggins at the end instead of Darius?
[*]Free throw shooting stays alive as the achilles heel for Calipari teams as they shoot 21-31 for 67%. It has to get over 70%.
[*]The block party was owned by the Cats. Kentucky had 12, when the Bulldogs only had 2. It seemed several times that MSU would score, and someone from UK would swat it away. It is a great weapon, and probably kept us in the game at the end.
[/LIST]I might be in the minority, but playing Liggins so much at the end about cost us the game. He was shooting when I didn’t think he was the one that should be shooting. Maybe we could have drawn up a better play at the end of regulation? Anyway, it was a good win, when I didn’t think we would win. Glad I was wrong. Go Cats!!
