I am up for a good rivalry game and smack talking just like the next guy. But at least one person has taken it too far. The rivalry within sports programs is about good fun and competition. A time where friends who sit on the opposite side of the fence can get into fun conversations and disgrace each others favored team. Vandalism is pushing the fun completely out of the equation.[PRBREAK][/PRBREAK]
Although I have hesitated to write about it, I think it’s important to share our opinion regarding this on behalf of Nation of Blue.
These acts are despicable and completely unbecoming of a true fan of any sport.
If you have not yet heard, there were at least 39 cars that were keyed and had the tires flattened in Louisville after the game on Saturday night. Etched into the sides of some vehicles were “UK Rules” or “UK Wins”. I should also clarify, the tires on some vehicles weren’t flattened, they were slashed.
In this case, it is our duty as citizens to help bring this criminal to justice. Therefore I ask that if you have any information or know of someone who may have any information about these juvenile acts that you contact U Of L Police at (502) 852-6111.
