How Could Sean Miller Leaving Arizona Affect Kentucky?

With all the rumors circulating today that Arizona coach Sean Miller could possibly be leaving for the open position at Maryland, one has to ask, how does this affect Kentucky?

Shabazz Muhammad is how.
[PRBREAK][/PRBREAK]Arizona is right in the mix for the top 2012 forward and if Miller decides to bolt for the ACC, one would think you could erase the Wildcats chances of landing him.

Shabazz’s father doesn’t seemed too concerned.

Ron Holmes, the father of UA recruiting target Shabazz Muhammad, said he also figured Miller will stay, noting that Miller has the pieces in place for a national power. Holmes, who is scheduled to visit UA on Sunday with his son, is familiar with college basketball because he played for USC in the 1980s.

“When I first heard about it, I was kind of pooh-poohing it,” Holmes said. “Coaches do that all the time, as leverage. This is a business, man.”

But Holmes said he wasn’t too concerned over the possibility of Miller’s departure.

“I’m just a little more seasoned with this stuff and that’s why I don’t trip,” Holmes said. “I just woke up and got a text from a buddy in Charlotte who said ‘Sean Miller is gone.’ There’s so much rumor and people are jumping the gun. He’s not going to take the job after just one meeting.”

Others seem to think differently.

According to sources; Sean Miller will be named new men’s basketball coach at the University of Maryland on Monday

Whichever way this turns out, one would have to think with a job opening up like this and Miller being interested would have a recruit rethinking if they want to go to the school.

There will be other jobs, bigger jobs, that Miller could bolt for if in fact he turns down the job in Maryland.
