Happy Birthday Joe B. Hall

In 1928, Kentucky gained one of only seven head Coach’s since the Rupp era began. At the time of his birth, no UK fan had any idea that Joe B Hall would go on to not only take the place of one Adolph Rupp, in what might have been the toughest transition for any Coach in NCAA basketball, but he would quickly hang Kentucky’s fifth banner in the Arena named after Rupp himself.

Coach Hall played at Kentucky during the 1948-49 season where he was a member of the NCAA National Championship team that featured names like Groza, Beard and Jones.

Coach Hall joined Coach Rupp’s coaching staff for the 1966-67 season and took over as the head Coach at UK in the 1972-73 year and was the man in charge for thirteen seasons.
