It’s almost time to put your running shoes on and participate in the [B]Second Annual UK Hoops 5K Run/Walk on Saturday, June 19 at 8:30 a.m.[/B]
The race will begin and end at Memorial Coliseum.

LEXINGTON, Ky. — Join the Kentucky women’s basketball team and coaching staff in the Second Annual UK Hoops 5K Run/Walk Saturday, June 19 at 8:30 a.m. ET. The race is set to begin and end at Memorial Coliseum.
The 5k run/walk was introduced last year as the “5K for 5K” and proved to be a great success. Over 200 runners/walkers attended the event, helping UK Hoops sell over 5,000 season tickets, a new school record.
“Our staff and team had such great time at last year’s 5K run/walk that we couldn’t wait to do another one this year,” UK Hoops Coach Matthew Mitchell said. “We look forward to seeing everyone on June 19 and I hope they’ve been training because I plan on winning the 5K race this year.”
In addition to the run/walk, the day will feature interaction with the women’s basketball players and coaches as well as entertainment, food and activities for families and children. Overall and age group specific prizes will be awarded for both runners and walkers.
Registration is only $20 and those who register before Monday, June 14 are guaranteed a commemorative t-shirt. The $20 entry fee will be applied to 2010-11 season tickets for season ticket holders. Information on how to purchase 2010-11 UK Hoops season tickets will be announced at a later date.

Registration forms also may be picked up at the Athletics Ticket Office at the Joe Craft Center. For ticket questions call the UK ticket office at 1-800-928-CATS.
