After the Wildcats exhilarating victory over the Indiana Hoosiers late last night, the Kentucky players still looked like they mean business. I saw smiles on their faces but I also saw a look in their eyes that they were still after one prize, to be the last team standing. You could tell that eight is great, but they only want one.

The energy on this team is positive and they all truly have each others backs. This entire season there has only been one goal, and that was to get number eight. Even though this is a team of super stars, it is also a team of guys that like to go to work each and every day to get better.

Yeah, the elite eight is good, but the only eight this team cares about is that banner. At times this has seemed like a team of destiny, even before the first tip back in November the expectations were to win the national title. Last season the trip to the final four was more of a “we’re just happy to be here” team, this year a trip to the final four is just one step closer to finishing the job.

Tomorrow Kentucky plays a very athletic Baylor squad, a team that has been labeled all season as a great match-up for UK. The Bears have won 30 games so far this year but have some notable losses on their schedule to Kansas twice, Missouri three times and the fighting Royce Whites of Iowa State.

While this Baylor team may be just as athletic as Kentucky, their defense does not compare. This game is another speed bump on the Wildcat’s road to the title. Keep enjoying the ride big blue nation, just make sure to buckle up as it is going to continue to be wild!
