Football Fundamentals – Spring Game on Saturday

You can never practice too much on the fundamentals and that’s just what the CATS are doing this spring. It seems the receivers are doing better job catching the ball, quarterbacks are doing a better job throwing the ball, but we still need to work on tackling!

I would agree with the tackling comment. There’s nothing worse to a team or a fan, than to see your team have their opponent against the ropes in a third and long situation and then give up a first down because you just missed an easy tackle. That’s about the time I sit down, put my face in my hands and ask my wife why we can’t seem to tackle anyone. Then she says, “I don’t know honey” (just to amuse me) and I’m right back in it. This happened quite a few times last year and I”m hoping Joker can whip them into shape by Sept. 2nd (1st game against UofL).

The Spring Game is scheduled to start at 1pm and we’ll be there tailgating (early!!). We’re not sure where just yet, but plan on stopping by to say hi!
